I have found a useful new benefit to being on cam - it negates the need for a mirror when applying lipstick.

I have made it through the first full week of classes! Yay me! Now that I know exactly what will be expected of me throughout this semester (more or less) I think I can handle it quite well. I have some really cool classes, and it should be a nice way to finish off this stage of my education. If you go to SFU and happen to read this (I know there are at least a few of you out there) here are my classes - feel free to introduce yourself (in person, or online) - I'm always up for meeting new people.

CMNS 422 - Media and Modernity
CNS 390 - Hockey in Canadian Popular Culture
CMNS 375 - Magazine Publishing
CMNS 488 - The Advent of the Mobile Communication Society
CRIM 301 - Intro to Criminology

Now if I can just pare down my work schedule a bit, I might even have some time for a social life! It feels nice to find that "balance". I'm also thinking now that a bit of traveling might just fit into my not so distant future. My mom's from Holland, and I have some family there who have been pestering me to visit. Considering that I have never been further than a 12 hour drive from Vancouver in any direction, I'm really aching to get some real traveling behind me. I figure that just before I end up tied down to a real job would be the ideal time to go away for a few weeks. Yes, things are definitely looking up.

Not everything is sushine, lollipops and rainbows however. I try not to talk about things like this on here - but I'm just aching for some support outside of just my boyfriend (because I don't want to drop the ball on anyone else just yet). I am facing the prospect of a potentially very scary medical situation. I have an appointment on Monday to check everything out officially - but until then, a few positive vibes floating my way couldn't hurt.

This last week has been about 12 shades of crazy. I didn't really have the time I wanted to come down from the holidays before the grand leap into school - and at this stage, school is already hitting full force. There is so much that I want to do - and it doesn't look like I'll be able to accomplish quite all of it. Frustration.

There is so much that I want to write, but I just can't seem to find the words right now.
