I guess I forgot to tell you all about the advent chocolate of the day (I was too busy trying to put the finishing touches on my presentation and running out the door). It's a happy mushroom. One thing about these chocolates is that the pictures behind them tend to be a bit more detailed than the art on the chocolate itself. The chocolate mushroom is (or was..) just a regular mushroom - the one in the picture is smiling :) I think it's a magic mushroom!
Aah... the final paper is complete (well, I'm just finishing up the citations now) - and I just have to sketch out my outline for a 10 min presentation on it. This is a good feeling. Now all I have left are finals. Two of those finals happen to be take-homes, so it's kindof like writing papers still - but not entirely. I am a happy happy camper.

Everyone else is doing it, so why don't I? Here are my signature strengths:

Appreciation of beauty and excellence You notice and appreciate beauty, excellence, and/or skilled performance in all domains of life, from nature to art to mathematics to science to everyday experience.
Love of learning You love learning new things, whether in a class or on your own. You have always loved school, reading, and museums-anywhere and everywhere there is an opportunity to learn.
Judgment, critical thinking, and open-mindedness Thinking things through and examining them from all sides are important aspects of who you are. You do not jump to conclusions, and you rely only on solid evidence to make your decisions. You are able to change your mind.
Perspective (wisdom) Although you may not think of yourself as wise, your friends hold this view of you. They value your perspective on matters and turn to you for advice. You have a way of looking at the world that makes sense to others and to yourself.
Gratitude You are aware of the good things that happen to you, and you never take them for granted. Your friends and family members know that you are a grateful person because you always take the time to express your thanks.

Well well my pretties... what have we for you today? Some candies! Hmm.. a candy pictures of more candies, how ironic. I guess that just makes them extra sweet :)

My little brother phoned me this morning, he's coming to stay on my couch Saturday night, because my parents are going to be at a Christmas Party and he won't have any way to get home from work (He's in the Navy and works at Stanley Park - but lives at home in Abbotsford). It's gonna be neat! He's kindof a handfull at times (he's 18 and still growing up a bit) but he can be the sweetest person ever when he wants to be! I haven't had a chance to hang out with him 1 on 1 for a while, so it's gonna be cool.

Apologies to those of you who were robbed of your chocolate treat yesterday - but after 3 days of sitting infront of my computer trying to write a paper, when I would rather have been anywhere else, I just decided to leave for a day. However, you shall now be rewarded for your patience with a double dose of advent surprise!

December 3rd's Chocolate... a Wreath
Today's Chocolate... A four-leafed clover

Speaking of not being here, I managed to do something yesterday that I haven't felt okay doing in quite a while. Not only because I just plain haven't had time, but because it's kinda gross. I went out Monday night for wings and football, then retired to my boyfriend's house. All day Tuesday we laid around in bed, watched movies, ordered pizza, and generally were as lazy as possible. We didn't even shower. In fact, we went to bed that way Tuesday night, and seeing as I was coming back home this morning anyway (and prefer my own shower - a wee snobbery of mine) I still haven't showered (and it's been since Monday morning people - I'm just disgusting). It's nice to know that there's someone out there who loves me even when I'm gross and stinky :)

Alas, it's time to return to the real world now - the one where I have to go to meetings, and finish a couple more papers, and study for finals, and work. But it was fun while it lasted!

And today's chocolate is.... A reindeer.

I finished my 310 and 324 papers.. happy day! that's a huge weight lifted off my shoulders! in honour of that, i'm going to get drunk tonight :) mmm MNF

Today, I learned binary, kindof, and I figured much of it out all by myself. I feel smart now - and very comfortable with the level of geek that brings me to.

No advent update yet... I haven't gone to bed yet, and you must count down to Christmas in sleeps after all...

One more thing - Happy Hannukah!
Woo! It's December! I don't know how much that excites the rest of you, but for me it means that Christmas is right around the corner! Anyone who knows me knows that I am an absolute Christmas fanatic, and despite the fact that I've already had my tree up for 2 weeks, today I get to crack open the Advent Calendar!

For those of you who haven't been fortunate enough to be exposed to this Western European tradition, it's basically a cardboard calendar page with the numbers 1-24 scattered all over it. Behind each number is a door, and behind each door - CHOCOLATE! It wasn't always chocolate, old school calendars just had little picture surprises behind the doors, but I have only known the chocolate ones.

And... I thought, why not bring all of you an advent calendar direct from peechie.blogspot.com! Basically, I'll bring you each the surprise each day of getting to know what tasty holiday themed chocolate I got to eat that day. If you think that sucks, too bad. Try to skip over it.

Today's chocolate was.... A bell.
