HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

And another thing, I love Norah Jones. That is all. Carry on.
How do you know when it's meant to be? Is it when your significant other considers your needs/perspectives when making major household purchases? Does that even count? Am I crazy?
Despite my crazy crazy schedule, I did manage to get out last night to see the new Bond. I will now ruin it (sortof) for all of you who haven't seen it yet:

"I will get you all with my Lay-surrrr (insert pinky in corner of mouth)".

I must say, I was really disappointed with the movie - the stunts were really hit and miss. A great deal of them may have been cool conceptions on the drawing board, but were so obviously blue-screened with sub-standard graphics, I was almost craving a Bruce Lee movie (at least his stunts are real). It also lost a lot of charm with the Americanization of the whole thing. Bond movies have always been about conflicts between the old continental superpowers. Bringing in the USA (Halle Berry) to Save The Day was a complete waste of time. I almost threw my overpriced snacks at the screen when I heard the line (from an American) "You think we're going to let the British handle this? You (Halle the American) go with him (Bond)." grr. And another thing. The character of Miranda would have been 10,000,000,000,000 times better if they focused on her as the Bond Girl instead of Halle. But, as a result, her character was choppy and not well developed at all. Heck, even more Maddonna would have been tolerable (she was actually pretty good) if we could've had less Halle.

Overall, It was still a good movie, with some classic Bond moments, a few good toys, and (for the most part) well-done action sequences. But if I see another fiasco with crappy stunts and unnessary "Hollywood Patriotic" scriptwriting, somebody is going to get a nasty letter.

I have way too many things to do, and not nearly enough time to do them all in. Well, that's a bit of a lie. I do have enough time, but I'd just rather spend it on other things. Here's the skinny:

1. Write CMNS 310 Paper (for Dec. 1)
2. Write CMNS 324 Paper (for Dec. 1)
3. Research CMNS 436 Paper
4. Write CMNS 436 Paper (for Dec. 6)
5. Finish readings for CMNS 371
6. Study for CMNS 371 Final (Dec. 10)

On top of that I'll also have two other take-home finals to complete sometime before Dec. 15th, and oh yah, I think there was something else that needed attending to as well... now what was it, ah yes, the REST OF MY LIFE! I have a boyfriend and friends and family who are all demanding attention from me in various forms - and I really enjoy spending time with them. Unfortunately, I tend to put them all ahead of my own needs when it comes to school work, and that's probably not a wise thing.

On a completely unrelated note, I'm beginning to realize that this wee slice of cyberspace is becoming a bit too wee for me. I need to expand, and create a real website. Unfortunately, I have absolutely zero idea how to do this. I could get a book and try to figure it out myself, but that just sounds too time consuming - and I only have limited time once school is over for the semester to catch up on my pleasure reading. I don't really want to fill that time with technical reading - so here's my proposed solution: Someone come over and help me figure all this out. I have Dreamweaver MX and some shaw webspace somewhere out there... help me put it all together, and I'll make you dinner for your troubles - or I'll order takeout if you're scared of my cooking.
