Today was not a great day. Not that there was anything particularly bad about it... but there was nothing really great about it either. I didn't get done anything that I had planned to do. Heck, I barely got myself going enough to make my bed, shower, and get off to work. I have a *lot* of homework to do, and not nearly enough time or motivation to get through it all as quickly as I'd planned.

I'm also having some boyfriend issues. Yes I have one (for those of you who didn't know) but I try to keep him out of my online life. It's just not something that I feel I need to drag him or "us" into. In any case, our schedules are really conflicting lately, and we're not getting to see eachother anywhere near often enough to maintain any semblance of a relationship. This is really discouraging, and it gets harder and harder each day. Pair that with the fact that more than a couple people have been mentioning lately that "there's someone better for me out there" (despite over 2 years of being fine with who I'm with now) and it's really making me question things - which is not what I want to be doing.

I also think that my "anxiety disorder" (whatever the hell that is) is rearing its ugly head once again. I feel alternately nervous and weepy, and I haven't slept through the night in I don't know how long due to the need my body seems to think it has to wake up at 4am worrying about things that I have no control over. It's either time for some good drugs, or a long vacation.

Not sure if I'll have time to do this tomorrow, and I kindof like the idea... so here goes, my very own Friday Five.

1. How many TVs do you have in your home?
Two, mine and my roommate's
2. On average, how much TV do you watch in a week?
Much too much - It's usually on in the background most of the day.
3. Do you feel that television is bad for young children?
Not if it's television that's for young children (no matter how much the rest of us hate Barney etc.). Using tv as a babysitter however, and not monitoring what children get to watch is a very very bad idea.
4. What TV shows do you absolutely HAVE to watch, and if you miss them, you're heartbroken?
Friends, ER, Sex and the City. I have a variety of other shows that I like, but none that I'd bother taping if I was going to be out.
5. If you had the power to create your own television network, what would your line-up look like?
Mostly like the "daily schedule" of shows that I end up watching. Morning talk shows (Regis & Kelly, the View, Cityline, etc.); Then some "Hands on TLC" (trading spaces, Home to Go, Sensible Chic); a healthy dose of drama (All four Law & Order series', ER, CSI, Judging Amy, and Providence among others); finishing up with my latenight favourites (Leno, Conan, and Carson).

See.. told you I watch too much TV.

Oh, and my paper's done - 3 down, one to go :)
I thought it was time for a new look. The avocado was getting boring. That, and it's yet another way to waste time on this already mostly wasted day. I have a paper due tomorrow - not a very big one, just 10 pages - and I've spent the entire day writing it. Seven hours to produce seven measly pages. Not even that I've agonized over every single word until it's perfect (because let's face it, I'm a pretty darned good writer), I've just been pissing the day away, and writing a bit here and there in between.

And I'm wearing really uncomfortable pants. I would dump on the sweats if I didn't still have a plan to wander over to Save-On later and procure myself some foodstuffs for the weekend. The good news though, is that I've managed to fend off the evil cold bug in a rather speedy manner. I'm fever free, and aside from a lingering bit of sore throat, I feel fit as a fiddle. Thank goodness for echinacea!

Anyway, I suppose I should really get back to my paper. Friends starts soon, and that'll be another 1/2 hour for me to waste in the grand process...

Well, It's nice to know that I've managed to procure a thanksgiving cold to go with my turkey :( Especially useful since it's midterm time, and I still have papers to write, and all I can seem to manage to do is nap. Now is it feed a fever, starve a cold - or vice versa? In any case, I have a wee fever as well, so I guess it doesn't really matter either way. Perhaps I'm just extra cranky because of my cold, or I'm just that picky, but there's something that's really annoying me right now. I have one cheque left in my chequebook, and I never write cheques. So there it is.. cheque number 050 just waiting to be written - and it will probably sit there well into the new year.

Oh, and a superneato new song that I highly recommend listening to is "The Ketchup Song" by Las Ketchup. Supposed to be the next Macarena or something - I already know the dance, how geeky am I...

One more thing - I can't get commenting to work on here for the life of me, someone help!

I didn't think it was possible to eat so much food at one sitting. I feel like the guy who orders the 48oz steak that's "free if you finish it without puking" and manages (by some strange act of God) to actually eat the entire thing. But, it was nice to eat my mom's cooking again. She's the bestest. I also have three days worth of leftover meals that she so lovingly packed for me, so I'm pretty content. It was also great to see the family and stuff - makes me feel all warm and fuzzy and loved. But... thank goodness for elastic pants!

p.s. I thought I was in line to get fired, but thankfully I wasn't - my boss is just an idiot. Thanks to all who were so concerned though. It's nice to know you care :)
