Well I crawled out of my hobbit hole to go watch LOTR in Donna's mini theater and I think it's fair to say that a good time was had by all :) I also got to try some very tasty (albeit darned expensive) pizza. I've never had pizza with marinated baby corns on it before.... tasty! I also had some substandard baklava, but oh well - you win some you lose some I suppose. I also met my landlord today - nice enough guy, wife seems nice too, but he wears sandals with socks. Although when you come from a place as far removed as William's Lake (and you all thought Abbotsford was far) I guess you're a little removed from the fashion police.

Oh yah, and Grant looks like Elijah Wood (debatable on whether this is a good or a bad thing)

Hmm... in addition to the fact that sitting on the floor for long periods of time makes my poor little bum go numb, there are a number of REALLY FREAKING BIG spiders that like to crawl across the floor near where i'm sitting. I HATE spiders... I'm deathly afraid of them, and jump up and scream like a wee girl every time I see one bigger tham an ant - and these spiders are DEFINITELY bigger than ants. They're so big I bet an ant couldn't even lift one!

In other news, strata by-laws at my new place forbid any animals (even fish!) and windchimes. Thankfully I don't own any windchimes, but my poor little companion Gerbonium the Gerbil (he's turbo charged) is not allowed to live with me any longer. My parents did me the favour of looking after him last school year, but they no longer wish to undertake the official gerbil caretaker role. Gerbonium is free to a good home, and will come with his deluxe Hagen Safari cage, one of those rodent balls (although he dreams of having the racecar that I hadn't gotten around to buying him),and shavings and food - e-mail me at jwiederick@canada.com if you would like to be his new people!

ok, so I'm sitting on the floor geeking out on the computer, and my butt is slowly going numb. But my desk and chair are all packed up and ready to move on Monday to my new place. I'm sooooooo excited!!! Feeling a little apprehensive though. Perhaps it's the fact that I haven't been sleeping well.... or the bad Chi building up with all the half packed boxes and clutter in my room.... or the fact that I haven't actually met my landlord yet.... I just can't wait until I'm settled again so that I can continue on with life.

I've discovered that as adventurous and spontaneous I like to think I am, I'm really very much of a homebody. I like to have my nice home with my nice things in it, and spend my time surrounded by the stuff that makes me comfortable. It's not even the same at my parents house anymore, I really feel like I have to get out and have my own place with my own things - I miss them when they're all packed away waiting for me to finish the summer. There's just something about the undescribable feeling that I get when I open my door, and drop my keys on my table, and go to my room to lay on my bed that I'm really missing right now. Only a week until I get that back! I hope it goes quickly!
