Day 6 

Even though it's not quite a week in, I used today as one of my weekly "free days." It's date night with the boyfriend, and I really wanted to feel ok about eating out and having popcorn at the movies, etc.

I can't believe how terribly I ate. Greasy fast-food, cola, junk food. Alternately starving and bingeing because I couldn't be bothered to eat on a schedule. And I used to do this on a near-daily basis.

It's really quite strange, because switching from my poor eating habits to healthier ones was quite simple. Especially since I was planning out each meal and planned to eat things that are healthy, but that I still enjoy. But going from my new, healthy eating plan, back to the bad behaviours that I used to call habits seemed so wrong.

I'm super glad that I've changed my habits. Who knows where I'd be in a year from now if I kept going down that track.

My next "free day" will be Christmas Day. Only 9 days away. Where the heck did the year go?

Day 5 

Aah. Today was all back to normal. I still didn't get up early to do my cardio workout - but I did do it faithfully when I got home. I also did much better on the food thing - even though I didn't plan, and missed a protein this afternoon because I couldn't figure out what I wanted in my flurry to get out the door this morning.

Overall, I've finished most of a week, and I think I've got a much better idea of what I need from myself to stick to this program. I must plan better. I must stick to my commitment to myself.

One very important thing I haven't done is read my goals each day when I wake up and when I go to bed. They're lying on my printer. First order of business: relocate them to my night-table. I'm also going to upload them, and post a link to them on the sidebar, so everyone can see what I'm trying to achieve with this. That should help.

Oh yah, and my legs were broken when I got up this morning. Pain received as planned.

Day 4 Diet 

Ok, so the food thing went right down the tubes today. I didn't make a meal plan, and didn't record what I ate. All I know is that I started out OK, but went down the tubes when I hit the chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon.

I'm pretty sure my problem was that I didn't plan my meal times adequately. I didn't make sure I had all 6 meals at appropriate times, so I was extra hungry, and the cookies were uber tempting.

I definitely need to work on this weekend thing. Any suggestions?

Day 4 Workout

Another thing I love about this program is that it's really easy to adapt to a finicky schedule. During the week it's pretty easy for me to schedule my workouts etc. But on the weekends I never really know where I'm going to end up.

This morning, for instance, I just didn't want to get out of bed until noon-ish. No problem. I got up at about 9:30 to pee, and had a meal-replacement shake for breakfast. After laying in bed for a few hours, I got up at noon and did my workout on my now empty stomach. I also love that I can workout at home. I really really hate getting to the gym, but working out at home is no problem.

Again, I don't feel like I got huge intensity out of this workout, but if the aftermath of the Upper-Body workout is any indication, I'll be moaning in pain with every step by tomorrow morning.
